SCHOOL OF REHABILITATION

Approved by the Council for Development of Medical Universities (CDMU), School of Rehabilitation of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences was established in 2009/1/9 .The schools offers Bsc programs in physiotherapy, Optometry, Speech therapy, and Audiology.Getting the approval of CDMU to admit Msc students, the school started to admit students in Msc Phsiotherapy in 2014. Several university hospitals and clinics (Razmjoo Moghddam Rehabilitation Center, Hazrat-e-Ali Asghar Hospital, Alzahra Eye Clinic, Ali Ibn-e-Abitaleb Hospital, and Khatamul Anbia Hospital ) are clinical training venues for School of Rehabilitation of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences.

Goals:
Considering the prevalence of different disabilities in different ages in the community, prevention and treatment of people with disabilities and making them independent caused the need for rehabilitation training centers. The purpose of these centers is training therapists that are proffessional in each special area of rehabilitation and then they were be active as a proffessional clinician in the field of rehabilitation in the community.

Mission:
The mission of rehabilitation sciences is improve the level of community knowledge about prevention and treatment of disabilities such as congenital and maternal disabilities. in the area of medical sciences, community education and improve the knowledge of the community by trained people has easier and more accessable role in community health improvement.

Vision:
1_it is expected that scientific upgrade of existed disciplines will be led to provide updated and high level training courses and methods for the community health improvement.
2_ admission students in the master of sciences and phd degree in the existed disciplines and establish new academic disciplines such as Orthotic and Prosthetics and Occupational Therapy.
3_ establish the research institutes and charity centers.
The role of graduated students
Graduated students will play the role as service providers, managers, researchers and trainers.
Proffessional duties of graduated students
1_ graduated students must know investagative methods of his/her profession.
2_ graduated students must gain essential skills for patients assesment.
3_ graduated students must be believe in proffessional ethics.
4_ graduated students must collaborate with other members of the health and treatment team and advice preventive methods to people.
5_ graduated students must participate in research team and collaborate with other clinicians from different proffessions.
